Clinical Applications of Cultural Elements when Working with Hispanic and Latino Populations

Training to increase awareness and abilities of mental health care providers in their use of cultural elements by promoting the use of culturally appropriate formulations when treating Hispanic/Latino patients with mental health disorders. Participants will gain knowledge on the impact of cultural factors during the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders with Hispanic/Latino clients, as well as learn skills to apply culturally informed therapeutic strategies that facilitate effective engagement and establishing therapeutic relationships with Hispanic and Latino clients.

Audience: Clinicians working in inpatient and outpatient settings of the New York State Mental Health System
