We are excited to be collaborating with the Latino Children and Families Council in our Self-Care for Community Providers Working with Latino Communities’ conference. Starting the day with an Andean indigenous blessing.

Opening ceremony with an Andean indigenous blessing by Matilde Cachiguango from the Nation Kichwa-Otavalo of Ecuador. Showing us the Chacana, the andean cross. It represents mother nature timeline and the 4 elements. Fire (Nina in Kichwa), Earth (Allpamama/ Motherearth), Water (Yaku) and Wind (Wayra).

Roundtable discussion lead by Dr. Christine Miranda with community based leaders, aimed to identify needs, challenges, strengths and strategies to improve health equity of Latinos in Wisconsin.
